**THIS LISTING IS FOR AN ARTIST'S PROOF**

**An Artist's Proof (AP) is a test print that is made during the printmaking process in order to check on the current state of the ink, screen, and overall print. The printmaker studies the artist's proofs to determine what part of the process can be adjusted to create the clearest and cleanest print possible. This means APs often vary from the final edition in some small way. Artist's proofs are signed by the artist and marked "AP"

This inaugural first printing of The Crone's Cottage was created for Halloween 2022.

The Crone’s Cottage illustrates the shadowy nature of the Crone, depicting an ominous yet whimsical place that evokes an atmosphere akin to a dark fairytale or folk-horror story. Medicinal and baneful herbs line the path that leads to the talisman-covered front door. The shining eyes of familiars peer from the shadows and grow brighter with every step you take down the cobblestone path. But you get a sense that something else, something bigger, is watching you. Arriving at the front door, the golden glow emitting from the stained glass windows seems to brighten. In this illumination you can better see the details of the peculiar cottage— mismatched bricks that seem to rise and fall, the sweet scent of sap dripping from the cracked mortar and, with a closer look at the thatched roof, you notice what you thought was hay and twigs is something much finer, silk-like and shimmery in the moonlight. As you reach for the serpentine doorknob, the wind picks up and the house itself lets out an echoing howl that transforms into a cackle. The door cracks open and it is then you realize, this is no ordinary cottage.

The crone’s Cottage is a print that embodies the mysterious old ways of the Crone- her wisdom, her cunning, and the way she walks with shadow. As the final form of the triple goddess, the Crone is a wise-woman, her powers of healing and her intuitive magic unparalleled, driven by a lifetime of gathering knowledge and embracing equally both light and shadow. She is a hedgejumper walking between worlds, a cunning woman healing those in need, a folk practitioner weaving magic from nature, a sorceress unafraid to lift the veil and, when challenged, a formidable force embodying all the fear, awe, and majesty of the proverbial witch. She is peculiar, quirky, and full of wit, just as likely to make you laugh as she is to make you cry, and her abode is much the same.

Her cottage is an extension of her being, a place where magic abounds from the simmering cauldrons and the aromatic scent of drying herbs to the warm glow of candles carved with sigils and anointed with oil. Sunbeams shine through the stained glass windows, dappling every surface with a kaleidoscope of colors. The floorboards creak and around every corner lies a new curiosity as the hallways twist and turn in a labyrinth of mystery. Ivy creeps up the walls outside and hangs from the eaves as medicinal herbs grow heartily, surrounding the cottage with protection. Among her garden grows elderberry, pennyroyal, bramble, yarrow, rosemary, and a trio of poisonous helpers— Aconite, Datura, and amanita muscaria. These are just some of the plant spirits sacred to the Crone and she tends to them with a nurturing touch as they aid in her magical ways.
