The Serpent’s Datura shelf is a creation like no other I have offered before. This one-of-a-kind piece started as an antique before it underwent a dramatic transformation to manifest the hand-painted beauty you see here. Adorned with a Datura bloom, Hexafoil symbol, snakes, an eight-pointed star, and droplets of blood, this shelf offers protection and amplified magic when placed in a sacred space. The poisonous bloom of a Datura sprouts from the shelf’s pointed base as a hexafoil, or ‘witch’s mark,’ is emblazoned above. Muted colors of gold and earthy green add an air of age and mystery to the paintings while red droplets of blood offer a vivid but subtle contrast. Snakes slither up each side, flanking the Datura and Hexafoil. Atop, on the flat surface of the shelf, is painted a golden eight-pointed star and a couple more droplets of blood, both to represent hope and connection through magical workings. From the lower point of the shelf hangs a muted green tassel adorned with a blood red glass bead. The shelf is made of tin, so it is lightweight and durable. It hangs from two triangular rings on the back. The back is also adorned with the artist’s sigil and the year of creation, 2026.
