In the midnight hour a basilisk slithers through the forest, moonlight dancing on its silver scales. Above, a reptile-like gargoyle takes flight, its wings slicing through the air like scythes in the night. These serpents share the same destination, a night-shadowed gathering in the dead forest. Creatures slither from the swamps, emerge from caves, rise from the underworld and descend from the sky. It is the Serpent Hour— a meeting of beings scaled and feared. They convene to slither through realms unknown, gathering souls in offering to nature’s cycle of death, life, and rebirth. The basilisk devours its tail and the other serpents link claws around the ouroboros. The concentric circles move together, as do we all when the wheel turns. This dance is ancient and happens but once a century. The serpents’ powers combine, exploding with energy, love, life, beauty, wrath, death, and wisdom all at once. This dance is vital, connecting all realms and shaping our world. So the cycle continues and the life-force of eternity transforms at The Serpent Hour.

Printed with black ink on thick glittery paper. The glittery does not shed. These colors are difficult to photograph because they change with the light. Each color has a subtle ombré (fade) from one color to another. These colors are most accurate in the second photo.
